Water-Quality Table Footnotes

  1. No violation because level is less than 5% of monthly samples.
  2. The reported value is the 90% of all tests. The three tests above that were 7.67, 10.6, and 20.7. Only the last reported exceeded the AL of 15(ppb) and is not a violation.
  3. Tests taken are reported at the 90%. The three test above that were .90, .184, and .191 which are all within the Action Limit of 1.3 ppm.
  4. Calculation for compliance with MCL is not possible unless level found is greater than 50 pCi/l.

An Explanation of the Water-Quality Data Table

This report is based upon tests conducted in the year 1998 by WISCONSIN RAPIDS WATER WORKS AND LIGHTING COMMISSION. Terms used in the Water-Quality Table and in other parts of this report are defined here.

Maximum Contaminant Level or MCL
The highest level of a contaminant that is allowed in drinking water. MCLs are set as close to the MCLGs as feasible using the best available treatment technology.

Maximum Contaminant Level Goal or MCLG
The level of a contaminant in drinking water below which there is no known or expected risk to health. MCLGs allow for a margin of safety.

The data presented in this report is from the most recent testing done in accordance with regulations.
