About the Water Works and Lighting Commission
Located on the banks of the Wisconsin River in the Central Wisconsin community of Wisconsin Rapids,
the Water Works and Lighting Commission (WW&LC) is a utility that serves 40,000 residents.
After
the purchase of the Consolidated Water and Power (CWP) territory, on December
7th of 2007, WW&LC now meters over 13,000 electric and water services to
parts of the Town of Grand Rapids (including Kellner), the Village of Biron,
the Town of Plover, the Town of Seneca, the Town of Sigel, the Town of Grant,
one customer in the Village of Port Edwards, a lighting customer in the
Village of Rudolph, and the entire City of Wisconsin Rapids. (Prior to the
purchase of CWP, for economic reasons, three customer had elected to
stay with CWP for their electric service after annexing to the City of
Wisconsin Rapids.)
