The 6.20 inches we received this month has topped the old mark of 5.72 inches set in 1954. Our temperatures have been averaging 2.9 degrees above normal. From 1895 to 2006 the precipitation trend shows an increase from 30.18 inches in 1895 to 32.42 inches in 2006. During the same period, temperatures have increased 1.1 degrees. The largest variation comes in the winter with a 2.7 degree increase in temperature with no increase in precipitation. The forecast for the next two weeks is for above normal temperatures with below normal precipitation. This is to be followed by normal temperatures with a slight increase in moisture. The rest of the summer is expected to be normal.
