Due to the growing interest in protection against lightning strikes and minor power interruptions, The Water Works and Lighting Commission is now offering whole home surge protection and uninterruptible power supplies.

Whole home surge suppression involves a heavy duty surge arrestor installed at your electric meter by a utility technician.

While surge protection will help prevent equipment damage from surges and spikes, an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) will protect against power outages and brownouts.  A UPS contains a backup battery that provides power to your computer equipment during a power outage and allows the computer to be shut down without loosing any data.

Whole Home Surge Protection	$4.95/Month
Package includes a heavy duty surge arrestor installed at the meter socket
UPS Option 1	$12.95/Month
Package includes a heavy duty UPS and software that allows the user to monitor power quality and to shut down the computer automatically in the event of a power failure
UPS Option 2	$10.45/Month
Package includes a low profile UPS that sits under the monitor.  This system does not include software, but has an audible warning for power failure and brownout conditions.
