Private Fire-Protection Service - Unmetered(Upf-1)This service shall consist of permanent or continuous unmetered connections to the main for the purpose of supplying water to private fire protection systems such as automatic sprinkler systems, standpipes, and private hydrants. This service shall also include reasonable quantities of water used for testing check valves and other backflow prevention devices. Unmetered Service
BillingSame as Schedule Mg-1.Water service to unmetered automatic sprinkler systems in which valves, drains, etc. are sealed shall be paid for at the flat rates established therefore. Water service to metered private fire-protection systems in which valves, drains, etc. are sealed and in which water is used for fighting fires or testing only, shall be paid for at the flat rates mentioned above, plus the prevailing consumption charges in excess of the first 1,000 cubic feet per quarter. Water service to fully metered private fire-protection systems in which hydrant attachments, etc., are also used for purposes other than fire fighting shall be paid for at the prevailing rates for general urban service. Water service to a metered tap on an unmetered private fire-connection shall be paid for at the prevailing rate for general urban service for the size meter installed on such tap.
