Water Service Tech / Relief Filter Plant Operator

The Wisconsin Rapids Water Works and Lighting Commission is looking for a qualified applicant to perform all phases of waterworks construction and maintenance including installation and repair of water main, fire hydrants, valves and water meters. This position will also provide relief for filter plant operators and includes performing bacteria testing and other laboratory procedures.

Requires a high school degree and two years of experience in a related field. Candidate should have experience in water distribution systems. Must be able to perform heavy physical lifting (range 50-100 lbs.) on a regular basis, experienced in operating power and hand tools and the ability to operate a backhoe. Must obtain Wisconsin DNR certification in water distribution, groundwater and iron removal within 12 months.

This position requires possession of a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and a good driving record; must possess, or obtain within 6 months of hire at employee’s expense, a valid Wisconsin commercial driver’s license (CDL).
