The Water Works and Lighting Commission is an electric and water utility providing electric service to 45,000 residents of Wood and Portage counties in central Wisconsin and water service to 19,000 people in the City of Wisconsin Rapids. Municipally owned by the City of Wisconsin Rapids, our roots in this area go back to the 1890’s. We have grown through the years and are now one of the largest municipally owned utility’s in Wisconsin.
